What Do Our Experts Handle in the Driving Licence Process?

Driving Licence (DL) is a mandatory document in India — not just for driving on the road, but also widely used as identity proof. Applications are submitted online through the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways' Sarathi portal (sarathi.parivahan.gov.in).

The process can be a bit complex — a different form for learner's licence, another for permanent DL, and another for renewal. Selecting the wrong category or missing the right documents can lead to rejection or delays. There is no need to make multiple trips to the RTO when IndiaBizStation is here.

Our experts handle Sarathi portal form filling, document guidance, and appointment booking — all on WhatsApp. You only need to visit the RTO for the test or physical appointment.

Frequently Asked Questions

A learner's licence (LL) is a temporary permit that allows you to drive accompanied by an experienced driver (with an L board displayed). After receiving the LL, you can appear for the RTO driving test from day 30 onwards and get a permanent DL, which allows independent driving. The permanent DL is issued in smart card form.

After applying for an LL on the Sarathi portal, you take an online computer-based test (CBT) at the RTO or a designated test center. There are 20 questions on traffic signs and rules — you need to answer at least 12 correctly. Our experts will share preparation tips on WhatsApp.

Generally, no test is required for non-transport vehicle (car, bike) renewal — only documents and a fee. For transport vehicle (taxi, truck) renewal, a medical certificate and badge renewal are required. Renewal can also be done online through the Sarathi portal without visiting the RTO.

An IDP is issued against a valid permanent Indian DL — it allows you to drive in 150+ countries. You apply through the Regional Transport Authority (RTA). Our experts can also guide you through the IDP process.

An FIR is not mandatory for a duplicate DL through the Sarathi portal. A self-declaration form is sufficient. You will need your Aadhaar, a photo, and your old DL number. The process is completed within 15–30 days and the smart card DL arrives by Speed Post.

Form filling, fee payment, and appointment booking on the Sarathi portal can all be done from home — and we assist with all of it. However, the LL test and the DL driving test require a physical visit to the RTO or a designated center. Our experts will help you prepare fully.

Multiple vehicle classes can be added to a single driving licence — for example, both LMV and motorcycle. A separate test is required for each new class. Our experts can also guide you on selecting the right vehicle classes.

Learner's licence takes 7–15 days, then a 30-day wait, then the permanent DL test — total approximately 45–75 days. Renewal or duplicate takes 15–30 days. The DL in smart card form is delivered by Speed Post. Our experts will give you the full timeline upfront.
