Aadhaar Card Update / Correction — 100% Online

After submitting an online request on UIDAI, it is generally processed within 5–15 working days. The updated Aadhaar becomes available on the DigiLocker app first, while the physical letter is posted by UIDAI later.

An electricity bill (not older than 3 months), gas connection bill, bank passbook or bank statement, a registered rent agreement, or a government-issued residence certificate — any one of these will work. The document must show your current address.

For a name correction, you will need a gazette notification, passport, or marriage certificate (if changing your surname). An online request is submitted via the UIDAI myAadhaar portal. Our experts will guide you through the entire process.

Mobile number updates require biometric authentication, which can only be performed at an Aadhaar enrollment centre — it cannot be done online from home. Our experts will tell you the address of the nearest centre and the process to follow.

According to UIDAI policy, the Date of Birth can be corrected only once. Make sure the date on your supporting document is correct before submitting the request.

After submission, you receive a URN (Update Request Number). You can check the status using this number on the UIDAI website or the myAadhaar app. Our experts will also keep you updated via WhatsApp.

Your updated Aadhaar can be downloaded from DigiLocker or the myAadhaar app — this is officially valid everywhere. UIDAI also posts a physical letter, but this may take 30–60 days. A downloaded e-Aadhaar is sufficient for all purposes.
